Being one of the most popular tourism destinations in the US, Nashville’s BNA Airport stays busy and is home to plenty of hotels to serve travelers coming and going from the city. Today we’re taking a look at the Holiday Inn Express Nashville Airport at 1111 Airport Center Drive.

I chose this hotel to maximize some current IHG promotions that are happening. Aside from being convenient to the airport it’s also one of the more affordable properties in Nashville. I was able to book it for a nightly average of $111.50 including taxes.
That’s pretty low even for airport hotels here and lower than most Holiday Inn Express locations nationwide. You can check current prices on Expedia.
Holiday Inn Express Nashville Airport Location
It’s right next to the airport. The area is dominated by other airport hotels. None of them really has an advantage over the others in terms of location.
While it might be slightly preferable to be right on Donelson Pike, guests at this hotel can walk across the Radisson property next door to reach Donelson Pike so it’s only a minute or two to walk it and much shorter than following the roads out to the main road.

Donelson Pike features some fast food and casual restaurants like Shoney’s and Ruby Tuesday. There are some gas stations and mini-marts, a CVS. You should be able to stock up on basics and supplies easily enough during your stay.
Holiday Inn Express Nashville Airport Property
It’s clear that this property didn’t start its life as a Holiday Inn Express. I’m not sure how old it is but it gives the impression of having been here a very long time. The good news is that whenever it was renovated into becoming the Holiday Inn Express Nashville Airport they didn’t skimp on the budget or cut corners. The property is in very good condition.
There’s plenty of free parking and the hotel does offer a ‘park & fly’ option for those who want to drive to Nashville and stay for a night before flying to their destination.
The property features two well-manicured courtyards with comfortable outdoor furnishings. It’s an unusual feature but a nice one that you won’t find in most cookie cutter box shaped garden hotels. There’s a pool that doesn’t look like it gets much use but is open and well maintained.
Holiday Inn Express Nashville Airport Guest Rooms
Like the rest of the property rooms here are clean and in great shape overall. There’s no evidence of deferred maintenance and wear and tear is at a minimum. Size is about average.
The rooms may face outside or inward toward one of the courtyards. They also may or may not feature a balcony. Other than that they’re very average. They definitely meet expectations and should keep you comfortable during your stay.

Some specific notes: There are lots of plugs for charging. The bed and pillows are very comfortable. The shower spills a bit of water but it’s not terribly bad and not a reason to skip this hotel.
About The Donelson Area
Nashville/Davidson County features a unified Metro Government. So while Donelson is very suburban in character it’s also very much a part of Nashville. It’s a popular part of Nashville for residents too, being just about 15 minutes drive to downtown which is close by local standards.
You can access downtown from here by ride share or by taking the number 10 bus from Donelson Pike. Buses here all run to a central bus terminal from which you can change routes to reach the rest of the city. The bus is not terribly fast or efficient but riding from downtown to the airport and back is very doable and can save significant money over ride share.
The hotel features its own airport shuttle. If the shuttle is not running when you arrive you can look for the shuttle that runs to The Parking Spot on Donelson Pike and walk to many of the area hotels from there.
Bottom Line
At $111 with free breakfast and a free shuttle there’s a lot of value here. particularly when you’re earning 4000 bonus points and double elite nights as is the case for this stay. With downtown hotels typically starting at $300/night it can make sense for many visitors to stay near the airport or in Music Valley and Uber to the city.
There are so many hotels near BNA and honestly they’re all about the same in terms of quality so shopping on price is probably the most sensible course of action. Check prices here and if they’re low for your dates, you should feel good about booking here.
