If you’re searching for a hotel near FLL airport or the Port Everglades cruise terminal it can be easy to overlook the Hotel Dello. There are dozens of properties in the area from all the major chains. Even if you’re just searching Hilton directly it’s easy to gravitate to one of their brands like Embassy Suites or this Hampton Inn which is my favorite local hotel.
But make no mistake, Hotel Dello is one of the top choices in this area. Let’s take a closer look to see why.

I’ve stayed here a few times already but the stay I’m reviewing is for a Thu-Sun June 5-8 after returning back from Las Vegas.
My nightly average including taxes for this stay came to $125.65, which is on the lower end of average for the Dello. It runs less than most other Hilton properties in the area most of the time making it a great bargain. Hotel Dello has an Expedia rating of 8.8. Check the Expedia rates for your dates.
After the first stay at Hotel Dello, staying here is an easy choice. I called the Hampton Inn my favorite local hotel, and you can’t beat their apartment sized suites. But if Hotel Dello is my second favorite it’s very close. In truth I prefer the hotel property here and the rooms are as nice or better than the Hampton. But the Hampton has kitchens and separate bedrooms for very nearly the same price. In time, this hotel could take the crown and become my home base.
Hotel Dello Location
Hotel Dello is very close to FLL airport, and you can see planes moving around out the window from a north facing room. You might also catch a glimpse of a gantry crane at the port. There are several other hotels in the immediate vicinity but you feel very much like you’re staying in the city, as you can walk around and reach various restaurants and amenities on foot.
The hotel provides shuttle service to the airport for free, and to both cruise ports for a reasonable rate ($15 per person to Everglades and $35 to Miami, four person minimum).

Being right on Route One, it’s also very simple to take Broward County Transit to the cruise port or the airport, where the bus stops right outside terminal 1. You can also reach Aventura Mall and the Brightline Train Station easily by bus, and points south from there. Beaches at Hollywood and Dania are a quick Uber away or also reachable by transit. You can find public parking at both beaches.
This is also the closest hotel to the Casino at Dania Beach, which is easily walkable.
Hotel Dello Property
Hilton’s Tapestry Collection is a group of independently owned hotels with their own branding and a boutique feel which join Hilton to participate in the Hilton Honors loyalty program and benefit from access to Hilton’s sales channels. This is only the second Tapestry Collection property I’ve visited, after the Olá by Hilton in Santiago.
The pool and pool deck are exceptional for an airport-adjacent hotel. You wouldn’t mind hanging out there most of the day. The fitness center is also pretty good and typically uncrowded. No need for a Planet Fitness run when you’re staying here.
Hotel Dello offers free parking in its garage and also in a few street-like spaces out front. Guests can also access the municipal garage next door for free if parking is full at the hotel. This is great because many area Hiltons have recently started charging for parking. The Dello also features a small bar and restaurant, laundry, and a very friendly and attentive staff at the front desk.
Hotel Dello Guest Rooms
These rooms are just fantastic. They feel more beach boutique than airport-overnight with blonde woods and turquoise everywhere. Each room is big enough to be a small studio apartment.
The room pictured here is a basic King. They also offer a larger King with a sofa for just a few dollars more per night. Having stayed in both I can say the few extra dollars is worth it for the sofa but the provided chair and ottoman in the basic room are very comfortable for just one person.
Rooms could benefit from the addition of actual drawers in the dresser and glass doors in the shower, but the current setup is very livable as is.

Much more than other hotels around the airport you feel like you’re at the beach here. If you’re transiting to a cruise or to an international flight, a night here will feel like part of your vacation and not a stopover on your way to vacation. I think that’s reason enough to book here.
About Dania Beach
I’ve been familiar with Dania Beach for several years because it’s home to the AMO Union headquarters and the STAR Center. The city’s position along with neighboring Hollywood in the South Florida conurbation is very convenient. You can reach anywhere from Pompano to Coral Gables easily by car. It’s also a bit overlooked, being overshadowed by the three largest cities of Miami, Fort Lauderdale and the Palm Beaches.
Dania is very much old-school Florida. There’s a casino with a jai-alai fronton and an OTB. There’s a Publix and another Publix. A beach and fishing pier and a smattering of old school motels you won’t find in online searches. Once you get away from either the beach or Route 1 it’s pure suburbia, with chains and shopping centers and a million houses that look like the one from the Golden Girls.
I like it here so much that it’s become my base of operations. My storage space is here, along with my car storage, mailbox and package delivery, pharmacy, etc. Having three airports nearby and scores of hotels that cater to cruise passengers makes this area extremely convenient as a base for a nomadic lifestyle.
Bottom Line
It’s not just me that loves the Hotel Dello. I’ve met other repeat customers on the property. It’s difficult to earn an 8.8 on Expedia, especially at this price point. This hotel is doing everything right and is really a pleasant place to stay.
If you’re passing through South Florida check the rates for your dates and book before they go up. You’ll never regret it.
