If you’re looking for a hotel in Lima’s popular Miraflores district you’ve got plenty of options. All of the major US chains have properties here but which one is best? Is it Hilton? Hyatt? Dare I suggest… Choice? I recently stayed a few nights in the Radisson Red Miraflores. How does it stack up to the competition? Let’s take a look.

I booked this hotel from Sat-Tue July 5-8 after returning to the city from the Huacachina Oasis.
Those nights came to $96.25 each after all taxes and fees. Radisson Red Miraflores has an Expedia rating of 9.6 from 357 reviews. Check the Expedia rates for your dates.
I chose this hotel because its location within Miraflores is really ideal. It priced out among the lowest of the major chains for these dates and allows me to continue maximizing the current Choice Privileges promotion. Read more about maximizing hotel points promotions.
Radisson Red Miraflores Location
This location is a 10/10. It’s dead-center of Miraflores with shops, cafes and restaurants all around it. Many of the streets in Miraflores are on a smaller, very walkable scale and the Radisson Red Miraflores is at the corner of two such streets, keeping the constant Limeรฑo honking to a minimum.
You can reach any point in the neighborhood easily on foot from here, or walk as far as your feet will carry you while remaining in safe neighborhoods. It’s an easy walk to Kennedy Park and the Airport Bus pickup.

Radisson Red Miraflores also features bikes for guests, which is a great feature because urban bike share systems are often not friendly to foreigners as far as joining the system and paying.
Radisson Red Miraflores Property
As soon as you step inside you’re surrounded by the RED branding. The hotel is big on pop art vibes and of course, the color red. The lobby encompasses the whole first (basement) floor and is also a bar/breakfast area/lounge/co-working space. They were going for maximum flexibility here and they did a great job. It’s not unlike a Moxy but not as in-your-face about having an Instagram-worthy experience at every moment.
There’s garage parking underneath the hotel and a bar and pretty good fitness center on the roof. They offer room service here and while there’s no ice machine, they can deliver you a bucket of ice free of charge.
Breakfast is free and they make a good effort with it but it’s a bit below average with coffee that isn’t very good. There’s a very popular cafe and waffle shop right across the street. Radisson Red Miraflores does a number of happy hours and drink specials throughout the week, and there’s a complimentary happy hour and buffet Friday and Saturday evenings.
Choice Privileges elite status recognition was zero at this property.
Radisson Red Miraflores Guest Rooms
The rooms here are modern and design-forward and remind me a lot of an Ibis property. But they’re overall more comfortable than an Ibis and worth paying a little more for if that’s your comparison.
The room is a bit small and hasn’t got a ton of storage, but it does feature a king bed that’s comfortable with some premium pillows. Chairs are plastic but not uncomfortable and the bathroom might be a love it or hate it situation for some. I liked the shower a lot but the water temperature wouldn’t stay constant.

Overall this is a great room for a solo traveler. For a couple it’s probably going to feel a little cramped. Could be workable for a short stay.
About Miraflores
Miraflores is a bit of a Goldilocks neighborhood. Certainly not cheap, but itโs not going to stretch most budgets to stay here. Itโs not a young neighborhood, but it is popular with young people. Not a party area, but there are bars and clubs around.
Wherever youโre staying here your next cup of coffee or trip to the grocery store is just a few steps away. There are restaurants of all types, and Peruvian restaurants here have more depth and variety in their menus than Peruano Restaurants outside the country. You can Uber anywhere from here for just a few bucks.

Itโs clean and safe and just a short walk to the sea and the miles of Malecรณn trail there. In short, it would be a mistake to stay anywhere else, particularly for your first trip to Lima.

Bottom Line
This is a great hotel in a great location for under $100. Not only would I stay here again, I’d actively search out other Radisson Red locations. They’re onto a good thing with this brand.
If you’re looking at this hotel you can book with confidence and enjoy the money you’ll save over other US brands in Lima.
