If you’re searching hotels in Lima odds are you’re looking in Miraflores. It’s a very popular area with visitors and features a great number of hotels from which to choose. Many of the hotels here are US based brands you may already know and love, and today we’re looking at one of those hotels, the Fairfield Miraflores Lima by Marriott.

I booked this hotel for Mon-Sat June 23-28 as my first stay during my first trip to Lima.
Those five nights averaged out to a cost of $124.32 each after taxes. Fairfield Miraflores Lima has an Expedia rating of 9.4. Check the Expedia rates for your dates.
I chose this hotel because Miraflores is the preeminent neighborhood for visitors in Lima and this was an ideal opportunity to use the $100 credit on my Citi Strata Premier card which is good for stays over $500. So my total cost for this stay was $521.60 after the credit or $104.32 per night. Booking through the portal was an ideal chance to check out a Marriott brand, as I don’t presently collect Bonvoy points.
Fairfield Miraflores Lima Location
If you’re looking at the map, the dead-center of Miraflores is around Kennedy Park. So this hotel is a little bit removed from being central in the neighborhood. There are several other properties much more in-the-mix than you’ll be here.
However it’s only about a 10 minute walk to Kennedy Park from the Fairfield Miraflores Lima. Anyone with no mobility restrictions probably won’t mind the location at all. You can see that this hotel is next to a park as well, but that park is some kind of ceremonial patriotic location and not open to the public.
The hotel is on the opposite side of the expressway from the rest of Miraflores. The location is particularly good if you plan to use the Metropolitano bus extensively. Otherwise it’s a little extra walking to just about everywhere.
Fairfield Miraflores Lima Property
The Fairfield Miraflores Lima is not a very large hotel, but they pack a lot into this attractive and modern building with underground parking, two meeting rooms, a large fitness center, an Italian Bistro and a rooftop bar/breakfast area. The only thing notably absent is a pool which you may not miss anyway, especially if you’re visiting during the winter when temps are mild.
MY BEST TIP: Learn How to Earn a Free Night While Redeeming Free Nights
This is really one of the best hotel breakfasts I’ve seen anywhere. It’s a buffet style spread with everything you’d expect, plus some extras like deli meats and cheeses, avocado spread, and exotic fruits. Although it’s a buffet it takes place in a restaurant setting. You’ll be seated by a hostess and there are servers floating around. They’ll drop you a check for $.01 for accounting purposes which allows you to charge a tip to your room. Tipping is not huge here so 10 Soles is fine.
I received a room on what they have designated as an elite floor. I’m not a Bonvoy elite and didn’t even book directly so I’m not sure what the elite floor means, other than being high enough to have a nice view.
Fairfield Inn Lima Miraflores Guest Rooms
There are three different types of wallpaper in this room. Maybe it’s because I just came from a Best Western, with the cheapest possible paint, but high quality textured wallpaper really lends a luxurious feel to this room. It’s clear that when they designed it that creating a mood and enhancing guest comfort were top of mind.
The room is a little small, so good design is important. But the Fairfield Miraflores Lima does a great job with it. Electricity is 220v here, but the outlets have the same shape as US plugs. If what you’re plugging in is your phone, laptop, headphones and things like that you’ll probably have no trouble. Just be very careful about something like a curling iron or hair clippers which probably won’t work.

The room features DirecTV with a few news channels in English. Storage looks tight with no real closet or dresser but there’s plenty of it in the built-in installation. The inclusion of an ice machine on the floor is rare in South America and very much appreciated.
The only things I didn’t love in the room were that the chair works great for the desk, but isn’t comfortable enough to lounge around in. The shower here leaks a little bit through a small opening between the door and glass. But the water runs directly to a drain and doesn’t make a mess. Housekeeping came to make up the room and replace towels daily.
About Miraflores
Miraflores is a bit of a Goldilocks neighborhood. Certainly not cheap, but it’s not going to stretch most budgets to stay here. It’s not a young neighborhood, but it is popular with young people. Not a party area, but there are bars and clubs around.
Wherever you’re staying here your next cup of coffee or trip to the grocery store is just a few steps away. There are restaurants of all types, and Peruvian restaurants here have more depth and variety in their menus than Peruano Restaurants outside the country. You can Uber anywhere from here for just a few bucks.

It’s clean and safe and just a short walk to the sea and the miles of Malecรณn trail there. In short, it would be a mistake to stay anywhere else, particularly for your first trip to Lima.

Bottom Line
It’s very difficult to earn a 9.4 on Expedia. But it’s not hard to see why the Fairfield Miraflores Lima earns such a high rating. The English-speaking staff was friendly and efficient. The whole property has an upscale feel at an affordable price, and the location is among the best in the city.
Whatever the rates for your dates are, go ahead and book with confidence. It’s going to be a great stay.
