When it comes to searching for hotels in South Florida, a Hampton Inn is a pretty safe bet for quality, convenience and cleanliness. How does the Hampton Inn Boca Raton measure up to the brand’s other regional properties? I’m here today to find out.

I booked this stay for Fri-Sat June 20-21 as part of a longer stay in South Florida.
The after tax rate for these nights came to $126.40 each. Hampton Inn Boca Raton has an Expedia rating of 8.8. Check the Expedia rates for your dates.
I chose this hotel because prices in Boca are markedly cheaper than in Broward County over the weekends. Other Hampton Inns were running in the range of $150-170/night and I was already close by after staying in Deerfield Beach.
Hampton Inn Boca Raton Location
Hampton Inn Boca Raton is in a large commercial complex called The Park at Broken Sound, which also contains a country club. Many of the other commercial buildings here are also hotels.
Itโs on one of the main roads which is convenient and very close to the Boca Raton airport. Iโm not sure that airport is large enough to drive demand for hotel rooms. Itโs also near to Florida Atlantic University and just about a 10 minute drive to the beach.

I guess this location is good? Itโs certainly not bad. But you need a car to do just about anything around here. I wouldnโt attempt to rely on transit or rideshare.
Hampton Inn Boca Raton Property
The hotel is pretty plain and unremarkable from the outside. It’s surrounded by (free) parking lots which doesn’t add much in the way of beauty but it is convenient with most guests arriving by car.
The pool is very nice here with columns and a fountain. It’s surrounded by the hotel building so you can find some shade, and the furniture is quite nice. It’s not very large but does have a resort feel to it with pool towels available self-serve.
The breakfast area is above average for atmosphere and the communal high top table at the center is a nice touch. I’m starting to be of the opinion that you can tell a property makes an effort with breakfast if they have bananas available. They have bananas here.
There’s no fitness center at the Hampton Inn Boca Raton, but the front desk can give you passes to a nearby LA Fitness for each day of your stay. The property is also missing a traditional business center, laundry, and some of its ice and vending machines. I’d prefer to have all of these but overall what’s here is very clean and nice.
Hampton Inn Boca Raton Guest Rooms
I booked a 1-King Study room type. I’m not sure what that’s meant to convey because the desk is the same furniture I’ve seen at other Hamptons. There’s no sectioned-off study area. It’s just one room but it’s a very large room. A fold out sofa bed and a wingback chair means there’s plenty of seating and this room should work well for most families.
Storage is unique here. There’s no real closet, just a curtained off wall with a shelf and hangers behind it, as well as an iron and ironing board. I didn’t mind this setup but the shelves are only 10″ deep. I’d have liked a little more depth behind the curtain and it’s hard to believe they couldn’t take a few more inches from a room that’s quite large.
Bed and bathroom were great and overall the colors and finishes lent the room a little bit of a grandma vibe. Not in an outdated sort of way, more like the apartment that granny moves into in Boca after selling her house up North.
About Boca Raton
Boca is what you think it is. It’s a playground for 401k millionaires. It’s nice but it’s super suburban, with country clubs and golf courses absolutely everywhere.
The beach in Boca Raton is a lot more natural than other South Florida beaches. Much of it is a park so there’s nothing commercial fronting it and definitely no boardwalk like in Hollywood.
The Sixth Borough effect is real and you can see the influence in the Italian Delis and pizza shops here. Northeast retirees is what makes this place go. Hotels are a bit less expensive here than in Lauderdale or Miami. Gasoline is much, much more expensive.

Bottom Line
Hampton Inn Boca Raton is a good hotel in a good location with friendly staff. Plenty of space to stretch out and store your clubs on a golf trip. There’s quite a lot of value for the price I paid.
