I’ll save you some reading and just say right at the top: this hotel is great. It’s become my favorite hotel in South Florida and something of a home base for my travels. It easily beats out other Hampton Inns in the area. If you’re passing through the area and need a non-beachfront hotel you should book this one at whatever rates they’re asking. I stay here as often as possible now.

My current stay is May 20-23 at a rate of $127.99 per night including taxes. That’s on the low side of average for this property and it represents a fantastic value for the quality of the rooms here.
The Hampton Inn Fort Lauderdale Airport South/Cruise Port has an Expedia rating of 8.0. Check the Expedia rates for your dates.
Many hotels in this area sell suites as king rooms to attract cruise crowds but none of them are as well-done as these rooms, which are like proper apartments.
Hampton Inn FLL South Location
This property is in the city of Dania Beach but the location is pure suburbia, with large shopping centers to the north and west. There are several other hotels in the immediate vicinity and many restaurants and fast food outlets an easy walk away.
The hotel is very close to I-95 and personally I find that proximity more convenient than annoying. But Stirling Road is a large avenue with copious amounts of traffic coming on and off the Interstate constantly.

This location is very close to both FLL airport and Port Everglades. Both Miami and Downtown Lauderdale are an easy drive and I like this location much better than the Hampton Inn Fort Lauderdale Airport North which is near Marina Mile Boulevard and I-95.
Hampton Inn FLL South Property
The hotel is overall nice and very well maintained. The building is quite long and surrounded by a free parking lot. In 2025 many Hilton properties in the area have started charging for parking. Even in locations where that makes no sense like the Hilton Garden Inn right across the street from here. So I appreciate them keeping it free.
The amenities are pretty standard and breakfast really crowds up with cruisers. The pool is pretty nice with both sun loungers and tables. You can even eat breakfast poolside if you like. Toss a crumb to one of the many iguanas living poolside here.
You’ll notice there’s another hotel right next door that costs considerably less. The property looks very nice with an updated lobby and a great pool. But don’t be fooled: the rooms there are crummy old motel rooms and most of the guests are permanent residents. Pay the extra and stay at the Hampton instead.
Hampton Inn FLL South Guest Rooms
The rooms here are amazing and what really makes the whole experience. I’m talking about the suites specifically, which are priced like a normal King room. The hotel has a lot of suites so I’ve never had an issue with them being sold out or out of my price range. Again, the rate I paid during this stay was $128.
The suites are a proper 1 BR apartment with a full-fridge kitchen. If you’re staying for several nights a trip to Publix can save you some money on restaurants and make the stay more comfortable overall. Granted, the rooms aren’t stocked with the same amount of kitchen tools and utensils you’d have at home, but you can make it work for simple meals.

There’s so much space and storage in these suites that you can absolutely live here. If you’re cruising with a family this is the best option I’ve found so far.
About Dania Beach
I’ve been familiar with Dania Beach for several years because it’s home to the AMO Union headquarters and the STAR Center. The city’s position along with neighboring Hollywood in the South Florida conurbation is very convenient. You can reach anywhere from Pompano to Coral Gables easily by car. It’s also a bit overlooked, being overshadowed by the three largest cities of Miami, Fort Lauderdale and the Palm Beaches.
Dania is very much old-school Florida. There’s a casino with a jai-alai fronton and an OTB. There’s a Publix and another Publix. A beach and fishing pier and a smattering of old school motels you won’t find in online searches. Once you get away from either the beach or Route 1 it’s pure suburbia, with chains and shopping centers and a million houses that look like the one from the Golden Girls.
I like it here so much that it’s become my base of operations. My storage space is here, along with my car storage, mailbox and package delivery, pharmacy, etc. Having three airports nearby and scores of hotels that cater to cruise passengers makes this area extremely convenient as a base for a nomadic lifestyle.

Bottom Line
Hampton Inn FLL South is great. Has absolutely everything. Laundry, free parking, free shuttle, free breakfast, etc. The location is great and the nearby amenities are top notch.
Head over to Expedia and book this hotel at whatever rates they’re asking. At this point I’m looking here first before booking anything else locally.
