If you’re searching hotels in Lima there are many good choices in the popular Miraflores district. If you like or are loyal to US brands there’s still a lot to choose from in this area. This week I’m at one such hotel, the Hilton Garden Inn Miraflores. Should you go from just looking to booking? Let’s check it out.

I booked this hotel for Sat-Thu June 28- July 3 as my second stay in Lima.
The lowest rate on Hilton’s site, the Honors Discount, was $122.67 per night after taxes at the time of booking. Hilton Garden Inn Miraflores has an Expedia rating of 9.2. Check the Expedia rates for your dates.
I chose this hotel because knowing I’d want to stay at least five days in a moderately priced Hilton is the perfect chance to use some points. Taking advantage of the fifth night free benefit means I got this room for 100,000 points total, just 20k per night for a value of .613 CPP.
Hilton Garden Inn Miraflores Location
Miraflores is fairly central within Lima, being between the other two most popular districts of San Isidro and Barranco. It’s not particularly close to the historic center, but an Uber there will only be $10-12 each way.
I strongly recommend the airport bus when arriving in Lima, which is just a couple dollars and will drop you off at the south end of Kennedy Park, just about a block from the Hilton Garden Inn Miraflores. It’s an easy walk to manage even with luggage. You can also easily take the bus back to the airport as the bus stop is also the bus office and tourist center.

The hotel is just a couple of blocks to the sea and the famous Malecon, with shopping and restaurants all around. There’s also a large grocery store just a block away. Overall it’s a fantastic location for any length of stay. A 10/10.
Hilton Garden Inn Miraflores Property
You might associate Hilton’s Garden Inn brand with the airport or the interstate, but this is an all-grown-up, ready for primetime example of the brand. It’s an impressive urban high rise With touches of luxury like a doorman, aguas frescas in the lobby, free parking in an underground garage, and a high-ceilinged lobby and restaurant that’s fairly impressive.
With conference rooms, a generous fitness center, and room service Hilton Garden Inn Miraflores should appeal to all types of travelers: families, honeymooners, business travelers, and anyone in between.
The rooftop pool and restaurant are chic and sophisticated. Be warned though: I stayed two floors below the top and could hear live music in my room. It’s not very loud but it’s definitely noticeable.
Elite recognition was wonderful during this stay. I received an email about an upgraded view room days in advance, and was upgraded to a free breakfast buffet including some entrees cooked to order. For general guests the breakfast buffet incurs a cost but the quality is above average.
Hilton Garden Inn Miraflores Guest Rooms
The rooms at Hilton Garden Inn Miraflores are overall great, as you should expect. They were very clean and comfortable with no wear and tear. Housekeeping serviced the rooms daily.
There were some design choices made here which you may or may not love. The bed is sold as a queen but it’s a double really. Not an issue for me but if you’re used to kings and you book here you will miss the extra bed space.
There’s no door for the full bathroom. Only doors for the shower and water closet. The shower definitely has a luxury feel, but it’s separated from the bedroom by a frosted glass wall. You can’t see through it but you can make out shapes and movements. There’s also no drawers. If you’re traveling as a couple you’ll need to take pains to preserve some of your personal privacy in this room, although it is large and comfortable overall.

The cafe table is great and very functional but I would have strongly preferred a chaise lounge to the built-in bench seating. The pad can slide around and you need to build a bit of a nest to be fully comfortable when sitting here.
About Miraflores
Miraflores is a bit of a Goldilocks neighborhood. Certainly not cheap, but itโs not going to stretch most budgets to stay here. Itโs not a young neighborhood, but it is popular with young people. Not a party area, but there are bars and clubs around.
Wherever youโre staying here your next cup of coffee or trip to the grocery store is just a few steps away. There are restaurants of all types, and Peruvian restaurants here have more depth and variety in their menus than Peruano Restaurants outside the country. You can Uber anywhere from here for just a few bucks.

Itโs clean and safe and just a short walk to the sea and the miles of Malecรณn trail there. In short, it would be a mistake to stay anywhere else, particularly for your first trip to Lima.

Bottom Line
This property costs fewer points for a redemption than the nearby Doubletree, which hasn’t got a pool. 20k points per night is a fantastic rate and it doesn’t get any better than that.
If you’re paying cash, This isn’t the cheapest option but there’s a lot of value here for the money. You get a stay that feels very upscale in a perfect location for the same price as a Motel 6 in the US.
Hilton Garden Inn Miraflores does everything right and checks every box. If you’re headed to Lima you should book online without hesitation.
